Cookie Policy
Last updated April 17, 2026
What cookies are
Cookies are small files placed on your device that let a website remember you across pages or visits. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, SDK IDs) serve the same purpose. This policy covers all of them, collectively referred to here as "cookies."
Cookies we use
Strictly necessary
Required to deliver the Site. These include session cookies, CSRF tokens, and security cookies set by Cloudflare. You cannot opt out of strictly necessary cookies without breaking core functionality.
Performance / analytics
We use Google Analytics (or a similar analytics provider) to understand which pages are read and how users move through the Site. Typical cookies: _ga, _gid. These are used in aggregate and contain a pseudo-anonymous identifier.
Advertising
We use Google AdSense to show contextual ads. AdSense may set cookies such as IDE, DSID, ANID to measure ad performance and personalize advertising, subject to your consent where required. Learn more at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
Partner quote handoffs
When you submit a quote form, the destination partner may set its own cookies on its own domain. That activity is covered by that partner's privacy policy, not ours — we link out rather than load partner scripts inside SaveCompare pages.
Your choices
- Browser controls — most browsers let you block or delete cookies via Settings > Privacy.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC) — enable GPC in a supporting browser (Firefox, Brave, DuckDuckGo) and we will treat it as an opt-out signal automatically.
- Do Not Sell or Share — see our privacy page for the formal process.
- Google Ads opt-out — adssettings.google.com.
- Network Advertising Initiative opt-out — optout.networkadvertising.org.
Blocking cookies may degrade some features (e.g., remembering your ZIP code) but will not prevent you from reading our content.
Retention
Retention varies by cookie. Session cookies expire when you close your browser. Analytics and advertising cookies typically expire in 14–26 months. See the providers' policies for exact numbers.
